Fever

I've been struck with a fever.
A really really bad fever.
And that explains why i've been neglecting this blog for quite some time.

But don't worry, i'm still fine, still alive.
Nothing tragic, nothing to be worried of.

I'm just hit with the World Cup fever, that's all.
hahahaha

I'm sure that most if not all of you guys are also struck by the so-called World Cup fever huh?
How about you?
What team do you support (if there is any)?

Backstreet Boys?

Of course, i support the Malaysian national team Spain,
a.k.a La Furia Roja (The Red Fury),
and tonight will be their first match against Switzerland.
Nice.

Espana

They have the potential, and they have the players to win this World Cup.
Plus, most of them are good looking too (damn, i sound so gay here).
But what the heck, the played one of the best football around,
just like the Netherlands and Brazil.

So, what team will you be rooting for?

Waka Waka.

Farewell and Goodbye

This is gonna be my last post for quite some time.

As you all know, i will be going to some parts of Europe and my flight will be today (Saturday) at 10.45am.
To name a few, i'll be going to Barcelona & Madrid (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal), Nice (France), Monte Carlo, The UK, and some other parts of Great Britain.

Yep, a lot of places to cover, and i will only be back next year.

I'm gonna miss a lot of stuffs.
I'm gonna miss a lot of things.
Semester will start a few days before New Year (what the fuck, right?).

This is a much needed getaway/vacation, to say the least.
It's been quite some time since my last holiday, so yeah, i'm really looking forward to it.

Let's just leave all the trouble and all the sialness behind.
Things haven't been peachy lately.
My grandma is sick and in the hospital, my results were good but some shitstuffs can't be avoided,
and there's also some other personal problems.

Hopefully, a new year will bring a new spirit, and i could become a better person.

I would also like to thank all of the other bloggers and my followers for reading this blog of mine and giving me feedbacks.
I really appreciate it.
Thanks a lot.

I'll try to update once i reach my sis's crib in Cambridge, UK.
Don't stop coming to my blog and do read my older posts, okay?
And DO click my Nuffnang ads to keep it alive yea guys?

I'll give you souvenirs, heheheh.

So, goodbye to all, wish me a safe trip,
Happy New Year 2010 in advance,
Merry Christmas,
stay safe, be safe,
play hard, party hard,
and enjoy your holidays!

And don't forget about me alright?

Who Says Guys Don't Shop Till They Drop?

The response from my previous post regarding the shopping mentality was quite a surprise, i must say.
I thought that most of my female readers would surely disagree, but hey,
looks like my observation is true enough huh?

It's easy to get a woman's attention, especially during the sale season.
Other than the number before the % and the initial price,
women are also driven by brands.

Come on lah, i've worked in the retail industry before.
So i know their strategies.
No rocket-science involved.

Okay, okay.
Of course, it is not entirely true either.
Not all women are like that.
But that's what the majority says, and does.
So, case closed.

True, nothing but true.

Still in the topic of shopping and sales,
i would like to share with you about something called
The Boxing Day Sales.

I'm sure that a lot of you knew about Boxing Day, right?
It's the day after Christmas... which means 26th of December, genius.
Just Google the word Boxing Day for more info, ok?

So, what's so special?

Well, the sales of course. Everything will be cheap, CHEAP, cheap!
But sadly, Malaysia does not really have this Boxing Day celebration thingy.
Well, kind of.
But at least there's the Year End Sale (YES) right?

I'll be going for my vacation in some parts of Europe in a few days time,
and yeah, come Boxing Day,
i will be in the thick of the action,
yup, London here i come again and again and again!

Why shop in Malaysia when you can shop in the shopping capital of the world?
Why buy things that are common here when you can buy something rare and hard to find?
muahahaha

But there's just too many things that i wanna buy that i don't even know where to start.
Wait, do i even have the money?
Damn.
Looks like i need to pinjam some duit from ah long! hehehe

Now, who says guys don't shop till they drop?
X)

P/S: Nak kirim/pesan anything? hahaha

Pendrive

This week, it's all about the PC Fair huh?

Looks like i'm not going this year.
I go to the PC Fair like almost every other time, so i guess there's no need to go this time around.
And i hardly buy anything actually.
Just menyesak and menyemak only.

But, there's one thing that i wanted to buy actually.
A pendrive, that is.
Maybe a good, cheap, solid, 8GB/16GB pendrive will suffice.

Especially in the college/workplace environment, a pendrive is like the most important thing in the world.
Data transfer here and there, important documents, pictures and what not.

And pendrives are one of the easiest things to lose too.

Spot as many pendrive(s) as you can!

It is so small that it could easily be misplaced.
Or accidentally left at the USB port.
Those are the common mistakes.

Then, there's the pendrive pilferer.
A pendrive pilferer is a person who likes to take others' pendrives, whether accidentally or not, i'm not sure.
As far as i know, this guy does not have a pendrive.
But then again, whenever he needs to take something (like a movie or a document),
he would always come up with a different pendrive, and claiming that was his.
-_-

One of the pilferer's private stash

The most common mistake that people commit, however,
is storing private photos inside the pendrive.

Ahh.. ever committed that crime before?

Some people do this, unintentionally, and of course, unaware to the dangers,
especially girls.
Take this scenario.
Somebody wants to borrow your pendrive, and that certain somebody explores the files inside,
and hey, photos inside!
Let's explore!

If the person is trustful enough (like me, for example), well then, lucky you,
but if it falls into the wrong hands,
your photos in the bathtub or you kissing your boyfriend passionately might end up in Melayu Boleh.
So, guys and girls, beware.

Alrighty then, i changed my mind.
I may be going to the PC Fair after all.
Closing time is always the best time!

International Left-Handers Day

Hell yeah!
Today is our day people!
Today, we, lefties, rule!
We have our own special day to celebrate, and at an international scale as well!
Is there any day for you "righties"?
NO!

I am Legend

Being a lefty has always been something special.
People would always go..

eh, dia tulis tangan kiri la.

Wow, you're a lefty!

Laa.. kidal rupenye dia ni.

..stuffs like that.

Okay okay, let's move on to the history of the day first.
13 August was chosen as the lefties day, just to increase the public awareness regarding
the advantages and the disadvantages of being a lefthander. It was first observed in 1976, but the whole thing was made official in 1992, or so they say.
I must be joking, you might think. No.

Being a lefty has a lot of advantages and disadvantages.
When i was little, i remember that most of the people around me scolded me for using my left hand to write. It's not my choice, really.
Some old folks tale says that lefties are children of Satan (LOL), and so on.
It is also related to hygiene or some sort, as we Asians, Malaysians to be precise, use our left hand to wash our asses. hahaha

I am so gonna buy this

But hell, who cares. I don't like stereotype. I dare to be different. cewah. So, i see it as a gift.
As i grow older, more and more people start to praise my leftiness. They say that lefties are intelligent, genius, brilliant, you know the drill. Basically, lefties are smarter.
Well, there is a living proof, innit? heheh.

Read only if you have one

People who use their left hands uses more of their right brain, and righties vice versa. Basically, people who uses their right-brain are more creative, and are more intuitive, while people who uses more of their left-brain are more analytical.
To put it simple, lefties are cool, and righties are boring. Yeah!

Swiss knife for lefties!

I still have some difficulties though. For example, when using scissors. The handles are somehow righty-oriented, and therefore, i would prefer tearing things apart rather than cutting it. heheh.

This is not Jawi

Writing is also a big problem. Since the normal way to write is from left to right, so, writing from left to right using the left hand would be a pain in the ass, especially when using a gel-based pen. There would be smears all over the place, especially for a fast writer like me.
The only way to write without smears, is to write in Jawi or Arabic, which obviously i suck at.

But hey, i'm not really a lefty out and out. I'm more of an ambidextrous person. I play football using my right leg, i play snooker/badminton/squash/tennis/pingpong using my right hand, and of course, i know how to eat the proper way.

God is fair, and that's why these difficulties are offset with creativity, intelligence, and of course, good looks.
wahahahahahaha

So, to all you lefties out there, today is our day, and let's enjoy it.
Because LEFT is RIGHT!

SIFE National Competition 2009

This is the reason why i haven't been updating my blog for quite some time now.
I've been busy. Really busy with this thing called SIFE, Students in Free Enterprise.
I never thought that i would enter this kind of organisation, let alone be apart of the presenting and competing team.
Yes, that's how much joining this have changed me.

SIFE University of Malaya is competing for the first time in this competition, which has been dominated by UiTM ever since its inception.
This is the first time for SIFE UM as it is still new for UM. Just established earlier this year.
Basically, SIFE is about entrepreneurship and all. And this competition pits all of the participating universities, where we all present our projects which impacts not only ourselves but the community and the nation as well.

I was in the presenting team, and to tell you the truth, i never had experiences presenting in front of a very large crowd before. So, imagine PWTC for a first-timer. Hell yeah, it is an achievement, it is an accomplishment, at least for me.

The size of the room does not prevent the size of fear from growing

A total of 14 universities took part in this year's competition, and is divided into 4 small leagues of 4 and 3. Our team were lucky enough to be inside the league with not-so-big names. In this round, we presented to around 7 judges inside a small room. But even this small room can become a big fear.

A few days before the big day, i was still unable to memorize my part and all. And there was a lot of stuttering and all. Damn. But luckily and fortunately, i managed to overcome that and i was able to present smoothly (almost) in front of the judges. Damn, what a relief it was. And to our delight, we managed to go through to the final round, the Final Four of the competition, which is the next day.
Somehow, having been able to do quite well in the first round has boosted our confidence level. So, for the final round, i wasn't as shaky and as nervous as i was in the first round the day before. But this time around, we have to present inside the main hall with around 14 judges, who are CEOs of big big companies plus hundreds of other spectators.

SIFE Universiti Malaysia Sabah won the competition and truly deserved their award and are sure more than able to carry Malaysia's name in the SIFE World Cup to be held in Germany later this year. Although we did not win the competition, it was such a huge achievement for us because we are inside the final four in our first ever try.
We have made an impact, and there's more to come.

This experience is surely invaluable to me and also to the others as well. We did not only win a lot of hearts with our approach, we also made a lot of new friends and not to mention business contacts (i like!). SIFE UM will surely come back stronger next year, and will prove what the judges say; SIFE UM is the team to watch out next year. Hell yeah we are.

All the hardwork and all the pain, sweat, blood and tears have finally paid off. 3 hours of sleep a day (or even less), and a lot more that we have all gone through. I even lost a few kgs (great!)!
Therefore, I'm grateful to Allah for giving me this opportunity to improve myself and also for giving me the will and courage to go through everything. I would also like to thank my family, the girlfy, and my friends for their endless support.
Last but not least, i would like to say thanks to all the advisors, presenters and other SIFE UM group members for always being there to help (Geng GSS rocks!). It has been a pleasure knowing all of you guys, and working with you guys, and i'm looking forward to achieving success with these bunch of great people.

Success is written all over this picture. LOL

Now, it's time to take a break for a while (just a while), pay my sleep debts, party and enjoy a lil' bit perhaps, and focus on my studies (ahem) for sure, before plotting a new plan to bring SIFE UM to the World Cup in Los Angeles, next year.
Amin.

Cerita Basi

Now the story that i wanted to tell is basi already. Sigh.
Never mind though.

I already mentioned about the warehouse sales in my last post right?
Now the story continues.
The last time, i told you about the tagging thingy right?
This time, it's even better.
It's unpacking and displaying.
Hell yeah. There's a total of 94 freaking cartons to be unpacked and displayed. If tagging was hard, this was even worse. The tagging thingy took around 8 hours to complete. This one took 12. Nice.
But somehow, it doesn't sound as bad as it may seem. Since it's in a hotel with proper air-conditioning and all, it's really fun actually.

The warehouse sales, dubbed the "Brandsales" was held at one of the ballrooms in Shangri-La Hotel KL. The ballroom isn't as big as i imagined though. But still, it's enough to place stuffs from Raoul, Guess by Marciano, Celine and Banana Republic. There were some luxury watches too.
The event started from Friday and ends on Sunday.
For this event, we just had to wear jeans and shirts, so, it was kinda relaxed. No boutique ettiquette needed.
The first day was frantic i tell you. It's a Friday, and come lunch time, which is extra long due to the Friday prayers (which i obviously missed, ahem), the crowd was like mad. It was like Petaling Street already, no, no, more like pasar malam.

The Raoul shirts are placed on the selling floor and no staff is needed over there. So, it's like every man for himself. Since there's no staff manning the shirts, people start dropping them on the floor and all. Who cares eh?
Then, there's the Raoul counter, which has shoes for men and ladies, ladies' handbags, cufflinks and SLGs. There were around 4 of us behind the counter. And i was mainly in charge of the ladies' handbags and shoes. When the Friday lunchtime comes, suddenly it felt like a freaking tsunami. RM350 handbags are sold like pisang goreng.
Somehow, the ladies' shoes didn't sell that much, but men's shoes sold well just like a bloody pendrive at a PC Fair.

The first day was really tiring, really. But the great thing is, food is provided, and there's no need for manners and ettiquette unlike in the boutique.
In the boutique, you have to be very gentle, polite and all with the customers. Here, heh.
Sendiri mau ingat. haha. Can even speak a la pasar malam people with the customers some more.

"Alo sir, this kasut aa, made in italy oo. Ni ori punya leather. Bukan ciplak. Ni dah murah gila dah ni. Kat Petaling Street pun tak boleh dapat!"

"Semua baju yang ada kat situ, itu je la. Kalau takde saiz maknenye dah takde la tu."

"You pakai ini kasut manyak ngam oo. Ala, murah saja maa. Ambik dua la!"

It was kinda fun. A pasar malam experience in a hotel. Now that doesn't come along every other day huh? If i were to speak like that in the boutique, heaven knows what those rich fucking bastards would do. hahaha

The second and third day however, was a far far cry from the first. There were not many people. It's a fucking weekend, and it's a fucking sale, but there's not many people. WTF? I don't really mind though. This means that there's even more time to lepak and waste time and gossip and all. There's even free coffee outside courtesy of the hotel. So, apa lagi, bedal la. Almost every half an hour we will order different types of coffee. Capuccino, mocha, latte, earl grey tea and what not. LOL. There's even one time where there are more staffs smoking and having coffee than the staffs inside the ballroom. Nice eh?

Taking a photo is part of the work too

In the end, it was quite a good event, although it could have been better. However, i had such a great time there, and i learnt a lot of stuffs from that few days, seriously. Great experience, good times. Hopefully there's more to come.

Oh and of course, there's this one really fucking cool Raoul sneakers that i really wanted. I reserved it since the unpacking day. It's simply perfect. There's 3 colours, bronze, silver and gold, and i really like the silver one. Perfect condition, perfect size and everything. It's bloody cheap too! I reserved it until the end of the sales... just to let it go in the end. Why?
Ahh.. That's for me to know and for you to wonder. Sigh.

Oh, and by the way, i actually hate posting something with big gaps. Makes me forget what i wanted to post. Actually, there's just too many things to tell, but too little time i guess. Busy lah katekan. Hahaha.

Oh shit, i'm working tomorrow. I forgot. I better sleep.
Zzz

Tagging

No, i'm not talking about the tag that bloggers used to do.
Not the i-tag-you-you-tag-me thingy.

Today, work was a bit different. I did not go to the boutique. Instead, i had to go to the warehouse in PJ to do some tagging. Tagging, in this context, means to put a price tag on the item(s). Siap ada definition tu!
So, i had to wake up freakin' early, 7, to be precise. I had to take the Putra LRT to Asia Jaya so that they can pick me and go straight to the warehouse.
So, let's just skip the waiting story and the breakfast story and go straight to the tagging part.

You see, the company FJ Benjamin is going to have a warehouse sale sometime this week. Therefore, i, among the unlucky chosen ones have been asked to put a new price tag for the sales items. Fine, i don't mind since i have never been to a warehouse before and have never done this sort of thing.

There's a total of 84 cartons or kotak (the word carton makes me think of cigarettes LOL). Inside these cartons are handbags, shirts, shoes, SLGs, dresses and everything. Basically, what we had to do is simple.

1. Pick a carton.
2. Open it.
3. Stick the new price tag of the items on top of the current price tag.
4. Put everything back inside the carton.
5. Seal it (but not with a kiss lah kan).
6. Rinse and repeat over and over and over again.

Simple, innit?
Well, not so.

There are some items which does not have a price tag, and so a new one must be made. Then there are some items that are such a pain in the assssss. For the SLGs (thats soft/small leather goodies for you), it is packaged inside a bag, and you have to take it out from the bag, then open the zipper and take out the tag. It is so bloody time consuming. And multiply that by 84 fucking cartons.
It took the 6 (initially 4) of us around 8 hours to do this process called "tagging".
And not forgetting moving and lifting big heavy cartons. What a workout.
Now sakit belakang already.
Sigh.

But still, the whole thing is fun and interesting though. And most importantly, the sales items are really cheap!
Not "really" cheap, but kinda cheap lah. Now that's where the fun kicks in.
Since i will be at the warehouse sales, i couldn't stop looking and surveying all those nice items that's gonna be put on sale.

Shoe 1

Shoe 2

Take a look at both of the shoes. Both costs around RM800++.
Damn, right?
But at the warehouse sale, the price will be slashed to RM180, only.
Great huh?

That is just a few among the thousands of items. Niceeeee.
Raoul boxers are just RM 30 each. Ladies' skirts, shirts, tops and others are 2 for RM180, which is also a very good deal i think, considering the original prices of the items. Men's ties are only RM90 from the original RM219, and dresses for ladies are priced at RM150 instead of the usual RM500 and above.
Why so cheap meh?
There's no problem with the items. It's just out of season. What the hell, who gives a fuck anyway. I certainly don't mind.
I'm really interested in buying a wallet or something like that, which is just RM50-RM70 instead of the RM200+.
Oh, and the great thing about the sale is, that since this is all under the company FJ Benjamin, there's also products from Banana Republic, Guess by Marciano, GAP and some others that i can't remember, i think.

Time to save a lot of energy and of course a whole lot of moolah for the warehouse sales!
Muahahahahaha

Jam Bumi & Audio Battle

Since almost every other person talks about the recent Earth Hour thingy, i wouldn't want to miss the boat too. So, that weekend, me, the girlfy and some friends went up the Bukit Langat to view the supposedly dark Kuala Lumpur.

I guess everybody was having the same idea then, so, the massive jam was not really a surprise. Getting up there is one hell of a mistake actually. Even finding a parking along the edges of the bukit is a challenge. By the time we got up there, it was already 850, so, KL was already "dark".
Very dark indeed.

Not so dark after all

The only notable darkness can only be seen from the main buildings like KLCC, Menara KL and the buildings surrounding. Basically, the housing areas are still lit up. What a bummer. What a waste. Going up there, going through the jam and all, just to get ourselves dissapointed. Looks like Malaysians don't really care. The hype is all over town, but the end product is sampah.
If they really want to make Earth Hour possible, there's only one way. You don't need to support it or switch the lights off or anything.
Just let TNB do it. Only one switch for one nation would do.
That, WILL work.

Since there's nothing really special and notable, we got down before the jam starts again. Pergi makan lagi best.
And again, maybe everybody was having the same idea, the makan place was packed like hell. Luckily it was worth the wait.

Since the malam is masih muda, we went to a car audio battle somewhere in Kepong. And now, THAT is fun.
There's loads of cars displaying their bodykits and engines and audio systems at a petrol station over there.
They blast their fucking speakers like hell and yeah, it's kinda cool.
Yeah, a good switch from saving the energy for 1 hour, to a sound/air pollution session.

If you think this is cool, wait till you see the next one.

The whole thing was kinda cool ya know. Just a simple audio battle at a bloody petrol station, and loads of people watching a la Fast & Furious. Their speakers are so damn loud that it feels like you're walking along Jalan P.Ramlee. hahaha.

Count the number of the goddamn speakers!

I don't really know bout engines

How bout' an LCD TV and a laser lighting system inside?

Looking at those cars made me want to join them. But then again, if and when i get myself a car, i don't think i will be making extreme modifications like that. I may beken-beken the car a little, but not like that. Maybe add a good audio system, that's all. I won't break the bank just to get a huge speaker that fills the whole backseat, or even lower the car like hell, or install a turbo engine which eats more fuel and all.
Just a simple tweak here and there will do.

Yelah kan, duit minyak pun kedekut, ni kan pulak nak turbo-turbo bagai.
Harapan ah!

Footsies!

Another great footballing weekend i must say.
Nobody expected Manshitster United to be beaten by Liverfool huh?
4-1??
At Old Trafford?
Damn, that was a welcome surprise.

Although i'm a neutral, i do support Liverfool in this case, as Manshitster United needs to be brought back to reality.
I watched the match last night at The Stadium, Sunway Amphitheatre.
And hell yeah it felt like a real stadium.

Not really Old Trafford, but this would do.

The only sad part is that i didn't join the fans singing "You''ll never walk alone" or "Glory glory Man united". Being a neutral, i just sat there and enjoy the atmosphere.
The event was great i tell you. There were lots and lots of free gifts, lots of booths, lots of amois in short skirts, and it's free too!
There were lucky draws, past Liverfool and Man U legends(so-called), and lots of beers too (Carlsberg is the main sponsor).

I think this kind of viewing party should be made more often. If i'm not mistaken, it's only done once a year or something like that. What are they afraid of? Lack of support?
The footie fans came in droves, even wearing the full set of their favourite teams.
It's a pity that the Arfsenal match that night was not really a big match.
Hopefully there's more!

The thrashing of Manshitster United aside, Arfsenal won big last night!
4-0 over Blackburn baby! And they won it in style too!
And Arfshavin opened his Arfsenal account too!
What a night.

If only Malaysian football is celebrated like this. Imagine supporters of Selangor and Perak watching at the 'stadium', wearing full kits, getting emotional and all.
Naaahhhhhhh.... no way.

Freedom

Finally, the semester has come to an end and the long-awaited holidays has arrived.
Yay, the exams are over!
Now it's time to relax, enjoy, and rest after using so much of my energy during the examination period. hahaha

Just after the final day of the exams, people start to go back to their respective hometowns. But i wonder, why so early? Lepak la dulu.. I guess everybody misses their hometowns huh?
There's nothing for me to miss though, hahaha.. I can go back home anytime i want and whenever i want.

So, now i'm already home. Aahh.. finally. Now is the chance for me to truly relax, lepak, and waste time as much as i can. I don't think i'm gonna find myself a part-time job, cause the holidays is just about a month, so, there's nothing much can be done and nothing much can be gained anyway. So, i'm better off doing what i do best, which is, wasting time. heheheh

Talking about freedom, there's this series of events called the Freedom Series. It all started with the 2 days of Freedom festival, where DJ Tiesto came over. I went to that event in Port Dickson, and after filling in some surveys and so on, later they sent me an e-mail to join the Freedom membership.

So, i registered, as it was free and all, and everytime Freedom does an event, i will be informed. The next up and coming event will be the Freedom Elite Private Event, which is only for the lucky 5000 amongst the registered members. At first, i'm not really interested in it, as it requires you to RSVP really really early and i'm still not sure whether i'm gonna have plans for that weekend or not.

No better way to kick-start the holiday

So, the dateline is up, and the RSVP is closed. But a few days later, they said that by requests, they have extended the RSVP. So, i just tried my luck and just confirmed that i will be going to that event.

When i came home yesterday, the maid gave me a letter. It's from the Freedom Elite itself. hahaha. I got the exclusive pass to the event this weekend held at Bukit Kiara Equestrian Park. I even got the Freedom Passport, with my name and IC on it, so that i can attend future Freedom events. How cool is that?

RARE Luck

But.. the problem is, this thing that i got, is just for one person (if i'm not mistaken). It's kinda logic for this pass to be for one person. But WTF? As much as i want to go to this event, i'm not going alone. For example, if you are always in a group of 5. Then, all of you in the group registers for this event, and RSVPed to this event. But, out of the 5 who registered, only 2 gets the pass. I'm sure that for events like this, you wanna go with all your friends right?

The pass, the passport and the flyer

So, how now? I want to go to this event. But i ain't gonna go there alone. The girlfy didn't register, so she doesn't have the pass. Unless i can bring her to the event using this one pass, then it's okay. But i don't think it's worth a try/gamble. Karang tak dapat masuk lagi sorang, menganga je. And the best thing is of course, the pass is not transferable. My name and IC is on the pass, so, no, i can't give this pass to anyone.

And by the way, during the event, there will be a free-flow of beverages. Rugi kalau tak pergi. hahahaha

How meh?
