Fipper the Slipper

Have you heard about the brand name Fipper?
Fipper is a brand for a slipper, or flip - flop, or selipar or anything that you might call it.
And it's kind of a cute and catchy name too.

No, i'm not here to promote Fipper or any selipar for that matter.

It's a rubber slipper, not a slip-on-rubber, if you know what i mean

This is a true story about Fipper the slipper.

I have a Fipper slipper. The girlfy bought it for me, last year or the year before that i guess.
It's cheap, less than RM15, it's comfortable, it's durable, and most importantly, it's sturdy.
By sturdy, it means that it's non-slippable, or you won't slip.
Err.. i'm still talking about a slipper.. ok?

The girlfy bought me a green Fipper and it has served me well until two months ago.
Nope, no malfunctions or defects.
It's just stolen.
And at a kenduri arwah at that (Google translator says its a 'late feast'. Or maybe a 'death feast' will make you understand better. But the word 'feast' seems just SO wrong).

Rest in peace, the green one. Missed but not forgotten.

So, i was left alone, slipper-less, Fipper-less, barefooted, and sad.
Don't get me started on how the girlfy reacts to that.
Although it might be cheap, the sentimental value is very high. hohoho

So, a few weeks after that (which was about 2 weeks ago), my sister got me a shiny brand new all-black Fipper.
Yay to the unbridled joy.
It's still cheap, and it's still sturdy.
Nice.

Fast forward to two days ago, the 1st day of the holy month of Ramadhan.
Guess what?
Come on, you know it's coming.

Black, new, shiny, and....

It's stolen again.

Yep.
I was at my bachelor pad, and all of the inhabitants(!) of the house are inside, including myself.
Naturally, at a bachelor pad, there would be many slippers lying all around the front door of the house.
But only my poor ol' Fipper is missing a.k.a stolen.

Damn, right?
Who the fuck steals a cheap bloody slipper during the broad daylight on the the first day of Ramadhan?
And who the fuck steals only one slipper while there are at least 6 pairs right there, with multiple brands (which includes another Fipper, and also a Quiksilver) all there for the taking?

Fipper oh Fipper, you're so super, you're so uber, i just want to pilfer.

I guess thieves nowadays know about quality rather than brands huh?

So, now i'm back to square one.
Lonely, slipper-less, Fipper-less, barefooted and sad.
And the sister suggests me buying selipar jepun Tat Sing.
You know, the crappy looking ones that people use to go to toilets and all.
And that is why they call it selipar jamban.

And funnily enough, i found the Fipper page on Facebook.
I quickly LIKED it, and guess what i posted on it's wall.

(and i bet there's like a million 'likes' already now, LOL)

So, now who wants to buy me a new Fipper?

My First Post Written in Malay

This is my 100th post, and to celebrate this grand occasion, i'll write this post in Malay. Here goes..

----------------------------------------------------

Nuffnang aku pun dah lama jugak, tapi sebelum aku mula mengaktifkan diri, die duduk kat satu digit je. Sekarang la baru nak cecah dua digit. Celaka kan?

Tapi Alhamdulillah, sejak akhir-akhir ni, aku makin rajin pergi mengunjung blog-blog awek cun sampai aku kena marah ngan awek aku orang ramai, dan makin meriahla jugak blog aku ni,
dan makin meriah la jugak Nuffnang aku (baru nak start meriah).
Jadi, apa lagi, tekan-tekan la Nuffnang aku ye?

Haa, ada satu lagi aku pelik sal Nuffnang ni.
Selalunya iklan bertukar-tukar je kan, dan iklan pun kadang-kadang tidur kan?
Tapi ada satu iklan ni, suka sangat kat blog aku. Korang yang selalu datang mesti taw iklan apa kan?

Iklan Carefree.

Aku pun pelik. Kenapa eh?
Aku jantan kot. Aku mana taw pasal pad-pad ni.
Aku bukan nye maknyah ke gayboy ke ape ke.
Hahaha

Siapa tolong tekan iklan Carefree aku nanti aku belikan dia supply untuk 3 kitaran haid. hahaha

Tapi, bila fikir balik, ini sebenarnya adalah satu compliment untuk blog aku.
Iklan Carefree ni sah-sah market dia semua perempuan. Tapi dia letak kat blog aku.

So maknanya, ramai la perempuan/awek/bini orang/janda/andartu yang datang blog aku ni eh?
Muahahaha
Habisla aku kena marah ngan awek aku lagi

Oh, akhir sekali, aku agak emo sedikit.
Ini kerana Arsenal kalah semalam.
Cibai laa

Dah dah, cukup merapu. Inilah akibatnya bagi aku cakap Melayu, tunggang-langgang. Mana taknye, aku rasa aku tak pernah dapat A dalam Bahasa Melayu sepanjang aku sekolah menengah dulu.
hahaha

Agaknya kalau aku tulis blog ni dalam bahasa Melayu, ape tajuk blog ni eh?

Ok lah,
Happy Hundredth!
eh eh silap, Selamat Seratus!

I Filled Up the Gas for Free

I went out with the girlfy yesterday.
So, as usual, if i'm in the college, i would borrow my friend's Kancil Turbo.

Normally, when you use somebody's car, you would always fill up the oil right?
Of course.
So, i filled up the gas at the Petronas station in Kg. Baru. It was around 5pm, and the after office rush is starting to kick in.

So, i filled up RM10 (cukup la tu) for that time, and gave the akak counter RM50.
The balance was supposed to be RM40, right?

RM50 - RM10 = RM40

But no. She gave me 5 pieces of RM10 instead.
I counted the money in front of her.
She was unaware. Totally.
This means, i'm about to fill up the gas for free.

Then, guilty conscience starts to creep in.

Should i take it?
or
Should i return it?

Usually, in most cases, i would surely return back the money. It's just RM10 anyway.
But somehow, i really had a hard time in deciding whether to return or not.
Damn.

Then, i slowly turned around, and walked away from the counter.

What the fuck? Why am i doing this?
It's not worth it. Think of all the 'sial' that's surely gonna happen.
Remember Karma?
What you give you get back. What you take you will lose.
Quick, go and return it!

Somehow, after all that shit came up on my mind,
i couldn't gather enough strength to turn back and return the money.
I went straight to the car, and drove off.
Why oh why?

I am Evil.
I'm sorry.
I never intended it.

If you were in my position, what would you do?

And little that i know, this decision would later haunt me....
Don't forget to come back later and read the continuation of this story..

The Caller Ringtone That You Will Hate

Just now, i tried calling the girlfy. But then, it looks like she has changed her caller ringtone.
Hmm.. that's weird.
And she did not even pick up.

Nevermind.
Next, i tried calling a friend to wake him up.
He asked me to wake him up via the phone, instead of knocking on his door.
Whatever.

So, i called him.
But then, this friend of mine is also having the same caller ringtone as the girlfy.
Damn. I smell something fishy going on.

So, i decided to call another friend, to ask what's going on.
Yeah, i'm very generous. I like to call people eventhough their rooms are just next to mine.

It's the same caller ringtone.
Damn, what the hell is going on here?

I tried calling other numbers randomly and still it's the same caller ringtone.
Why is everybody using the same caller ringtone?
Free is it? Or is there a conspiracy?

I Need Good __uck

Yuck? Duck?

It's 6am, and i have an exam in about 2 hours time.
Yep, the exams have officially started for me.

Being a last minute person, staying up the night before the exam is usual.
Nothing new.
Well, i don't have much choice really, haha.

I have been awake for around 12 hours, and it looks like i won't be sleeping till the next 12 hours.
Because why? The girlfy will be back this afternoon!
Err.. great timing huh? YAYYY!!

Luckily, there's only one paper today for me.
And the next next one next week.

And so, that is why i need some goooooood... luck.
You know that i have issues with Lady Luck, right?

And do not fill in the empty blank with inappropriate letters please?
I'm trying to study here okay? Hello.

I want that one. And that one. And that one too!

So, good luck to me!
I'll try my best to SCORE today! (the exam, that is)

Love and Sorrow : The Tale of the Swallows

This is a true story, captured in a few photos.

This story is about two swallows (Burung Layang-layang), presumably male and female, or a couple, or lovebirds.
This story shows to us humans, that animals have feelings too.

It is very touching to see that even a bird can show so much compassion towards its partner.

The female swallow, the girlfy to the male swallow, is injured.
She was hit by a car, and she's in a critical condition.
However, she was still breathing, hanging on for dear life.

"Help me!"

Then, the boyfy of the female swallow came to her aid.
She brought some food for her.
How sweet. The boyfy was very caring and he really loves his girlfy very much.

"Don't you worry darling, for i am here"

The boyfy then went away to get some more food for the dying girlfy.
Unfortunately, when he came back..

...the girlfy is dead.

"Sayang.. bangun laa.. I bawak makanan ni.."

The boyfy could not believe it!
His beloved partner has left him forever.
He tried and tried to wake his girlfy, but sadly, to no avail.

"Dont leave me please!!!"

The boyfy cried and screamed as hard as he could.
He was too late. Even tears of blood could not bring the girlfy back.

"You will always be in my heart.. forever."

He finally realised that the girlfy has left him forever.
He stood there for days and nights, just to accompany the body of the girlfy.
His love for her remains.. forever.

"Okay then, time to find another girl."

So, you see,
even swallows have feelings. And they showed it pretty well.

Humans think that they are the only ones with feelings..
Now think again.
They have feelings too.

Take good care of your loved ones, before it's too late.

Playing a game as a class assignment is cool

How would that sound to you?
Wouldn't it be exciting?

The word assignments have been synonymous with students since forever. And the word assignment is not good news either.

I'm afraid that i have to give you some extra work. Go and play DoTA for 5 rounds NOW!

However, this is not the case for the girlfy. She actually had to do an assignment, for her Business subject or something, by playing a game.
WTF?

Yep. The lecturer told her class to play the game Lemonade Tycoon 2. LOL.
Since the game involves err.. selling lemonades, it does involve business.

Assignment 1

In the game, you start as some nigga in the Bronx, selling lemonades in your neighbourhood. As your business grow, you expand your business and move to bigger places and create franchises and so on.
There are quite a few basics of business that you can learn in this game.

The game is fairly simple. You mix you recipe for the lemonade, you order your stocks, set the price and there, that's it.
You can also upgrade your lemonade stall, train your staffs and so on.
This game is simple and easy to understand.
Not to mention educational. haha

Selling lemonades can make you rich faster than a skim cepat kaya

The girlfy's lecturer said that the game is used to show the students how to manage your business and so on. How nice eh?
Every student needs to play the game, get a lot of print screens, and make a report regarding the whole thing.

And the best part is, the student who gets the highest points in the game will get extra marks!
How fucking cool is THAT?

I'm a fucking computer science student and not even a single lecturer has mentioned the word 'game'!
All they know about is case studies, reports, coding and shit.
Bloody typical computer geeks.
Damn.

Typical. But he smokes!

But hey, since i'm in a good mood today, i'll give you the download link for the game.
It's free, it's the full version and it's only 10mb small.
It's those kind of games where you just want to waste some time.

And make sure to install the game properly, or else you would end up playing the
60 minute trial version!

Do leave a comment if you have problems installing it.

Raya Movies and Reviews

During the Raya week, the first week that is, i watched 3 movies at the cinema.
Not so in the spirit of Raya eh? Whatever lah.
Maybe it's because there's not much to do i think.
So, here are the reviews for the movies that i watched.

Jin Notti

Wait, what the fuck? I watched Jin Notti? At the cinema???
Holy shit. You gotta be kidding me.
I can't believe it either.

Rubbish, unsurprisingly

But yes. I did watch the bloody movie, and at the cinema.
Well, i certainly won't watch this kind of movie, let alone at the cinema. But hey, since me and the girlfy is being treated to the movie, so, what the heck. At least it's free.

So, basically, the story is rubbish. Utter bollocks. Period.
Storyline-wise, it's kinda okay. The idea is there.
But the acting is horrendous. Come on, Mawi as the lead actor? With Farah Fauzana pulak tu!
And with Cat Farish some more!
Argh, what a torture.

What a waste of time. Shitty acting. Stupid jokes. But i wonder why the whole cinema laughed at the stupid jokes. Sigh.
And what makes it more surprising is that the movie has grossed around RM1 million in its first week of showing. What the fuck?

Well, i don't want to comment more on this stupid movie.
Hey, at least i support the local movie industry. Heh.

Verdict is, don't watch this movie unless you're into Mawi/Farah Fauzana/Cat Farish or lame slapstick shit or somebody else is paying.

The Ugly Truth

The Ugly Truth is a good romantic comedy starring the talented Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. Now, you might see Butler in action in the movie Gamer, but in this movie, he plays as this some sort of jackass Doktor Cinta and appears on television shows while Heigl is the producer of the show. Nice eh?

It is ugly, and it hurts, the truth

Couples should watch this movie, and there's a lot of things to fight about when watching this movie. It's all about he says she says. But what i like about this movie is that Gerard Butler really dishes out the ugly truth that women can't accept. Hell yeah. And what he says are real.
I'm sure that almost all of you can relate to it.
It is, in fact, the ugly truth.

Great match

The storyline is normal, rather predictable. But hey, it's kinda fresh though. The acting was great and comedy was good.
So, the verdict is, watch this movie for a fun, relaxing time. And also recommended for couples, lovebirds, whatever.

Tsunami at Haeundae

This is a Korean movie. It claims to be the number one blockbuster in Korea, and it is from co-team that made Star Wars and The Day After Tomorrow. I'm not really sure of the term co-team here though. Co-team of what? It could be co-team of anything. Team of producers, or maybe team of extras, or perhaps team of waterboys? And don't forget the co before the team.

Not about the car Hyundai

But whatever the hell that is, this movie is good. Really good.
Disaster movies are always good to watch eh?

The story is about er.. well, Tsunami of course. The tsunami strikes the beach of Haeundae, where all of the characters seems to be staying, working, or at least on a holiday.
The story is a mixture of romance, comedy and action. All of it are nicely blended into the movie.

There are many characters in this movie, usual for a disaster/catastrophe film. And somehow the characters are related and intertwine with each other, unsurprisingly. The storyline was quite predictable for a disaster movie, but hey, this is done Korean style.

The actors and actresses are okay. The funny moments also hit the spot. The animation's not bad.
There's also some sad parts, which left the girlfy almost crying.
Me? Well, no way. It was sad, and i was moved, a lot, but that's that. I don't really cry. (control macho beb!)
hahaha

Tsunami at Indonesia = 10 meters. Tsunami at Haeundae = 50 meters

The verdict is, this movie is a must-watch. Even if you don't dig Korean stuffs, you should give it a try. Tsunami at Haeundae is certainly the best movie among the 3 that i watched with the girlfy during the Raya period.

That's it for my movie reviews, Raya Edition.

So, have you watched any of these?
If not, will you watch any of these?
What do you think?

Oh, and by the way, the tagline for the movie Jin Notti is..
Jangan naughty-naughty.

Sumpah geli dohh! Arghhhh

Steamboats in Sunway

This is the REAL steam boat.

Whenever the words "steamboat" and "Sunway" are mentioned in the same breath, people will automatically think of Flaming Steamboat.

On one fine day in Ramadhan, which was around a few weeks ago, me and the girlfy decided to go and break our fasts at Flaming Steamboat Sunway.
Since we were around that area that time, we figured that it's best to go there ourselves to book a table. Unfortunately, it was fully booked. That was around 5pm.

I then remembered about another steamboat outlet in Sunway called Yuen Seafood Steamboat Restaurant. So, we went there to book instead. Although this steamboat outlet isn't as famous as Flaming, it's still packed like hell. So, we booked a table for the both of us there. Done.

Since it was already 5 something, there's no time to go to Sunway Pyramid. But it is still too early to sit in the restaurant!
So, what did we do?

We went around the area to take a look at the shops and restaurants over there.
And what did we found?

More and more and MORE steamboats!
Fucking steamboats everywhere!
And we even have the time to take the photos of almost all of the shops!

Tasty Pot BBQ Steamboat

Almost every other shop lot is a steamboat outlet. WTF?
People from Sunway are so obsessed with steamboat is it?

Hok Seng Steamboat buffet - can you see the price and the contact number as well?

All of the steamboat restaurants here have their own uniqueness. Some are open-air, some have air-cond, some are cheaper than the other, and some are just dirty.
So, it's your call. The price range are all around RM18-RM27 per person.
All you can eat. Eat till you die.

Hot Hot Pot Steamboat. But empty empty empty.

But there might be a catch. Some have taxes, while some needs you to pay for the drinks.

Jins Deli Steamboat. No Jin Notti here.

So, since there's a lot of time to waste, we decided to go into one of the restaurants there called Umami House of Steamboat. It's one of the better looking ones. Somehow, we got attracted to it, and we decided to have our buka puasa over there. Forget about Yuen Seafood.

Umami House of Steamboat

The price was RM23.90 if my memory serves me right. But the catch here is, you have to pay for your drink. Drinks are not included. WTF.
No wonder Flaming is so famous because it's slightly cheaper and there aren't any tricks or anything.

Usual stuffs

Usual Stuffs 2

Apart from that, the food available are all the usual steamboat stuffs. However, what attracts us both are actually the fresh meat available.
There are Australian and NZ strip beef, and also salmon!
Now that's hard to find in other steamboat reastaurants.

Sayur-sayuran

The steamboat restaurant that i went to was not that bad actually. It has two sections, one for smokers, and the inside has air-conds. The toilets are clean and the furnishing inside was quite beautiful.

The Girlfy is always happy

All in all, it was a fun activity, hunting for steamboats with the girlfy. I hope that our next steamboat session will be even more fun, plus cheaper, and not to mention bottomless drinks.

Oh, and one more thing.
Apart from the abundance of the steamboat outlets in Sunway, there are also another type of outlet that can be found easily here.
Ayam Penyet.

Who the fuck eats ayam penyet in outlets like these anyway?

You can find a lot of shops selling Ayam Penyet here in Sunway.
And again, WTF?

The conclusion for the day was,
Sunway people are all obsessed with Steamboats and Ayam Penyets.

But what makes me wonder the most was,
why isn't there any steamboat outlets like these in KL?
And how come Flaming steamboat is the only famous steamboat in Sunway?

Seafood at Jalan Walter Grenier

Have you been there? Or have you at least heard about it?
Well, it is quite unknown to most, but for others, this road is famous for its seafood restaurant/food court. Well, don't be put off by the word 'food court', but it is actually some kind of a food court, and old one at that.

The roof is made of zinc, wow!

Jalan Walter Grenier is in Bukit Bintang, and this Jalan is off Jalan Imbi. You can easily find this place if you're familiar with this area. It's just somewhere at the back of Star Hill Gallery.

Not the best definition for the word Kitchen

At a first glance, you might not want to eat at this place. Well, it's kinda dirty if you're really particular, and it's just by the road. It's basically a Chinese hawker stall. You know, that kind of style. But worry not, it is Halal. How am i so sure?
Well, there's always Muslims eating there, even those Burqa-clad women eat here too. Of course there's no Halal chop or logo or whatever, but hey, it's up to you to decide.
It's Halal enough for me. Besides, it's just seafood.
What the heck.

I don't think there is a name for this restaurant, but most people know it when you say seafood at Walter Grenier. Well at least me and the girlfy simply call it Walter Grenier. It's been there for quite some time, and the reason why i'm telling you about this place is that the food, the seafood to be precise, is awesome.

The ever-so-happy Girlfy playing with food

The whole restaurant itself is not the prettiest that you can find around here, but the food is well worth the experience(s). And by the word experience, i mean experiences like seeing some 6-legged-aliens running around, or even an odd cameo appearance by Mickey Mouse, if you know what i mean.
Never ever come here and expect some 5-star treatment, or even Mamak-like environment. This is Chinese hawker at its best. Down and dirrrrtay. Noisy and stuffy. Oooh yeah.
But fret not, it is okay, it is safe, no worries. There are also other stalls around, but none can match this seafood stall.

Ketam Masak Hitam

But hey, i'm talking about the food here, not the environment. Well, it's kinda hard to find fresh seafood right smack in the middle of KL right? So, here's the place to come. That's why it's always freaking packed to the brim whenever i come to this place.
Me and the girlfy have been a big fan of this place actually. haha.

Yummy Garlic Prawns

The seafood here are all FRESH. I don't know where the hell they come from, but hey, it's fresh. Some of the most popular dishes are the Black Curry Crab, or something like that, and the Garlic Prawn. There are also other stuffs like squids, Sweet N' Sour Crab, those i-don't-know-what-they're-called clams, and many more.

Basically, you come here and eat the seafood with the fried rice, which is also quite nice (it's just plain fried rice by the way, but it's nice). And the rest, is all the seafood. Even just eating the seafood without the rice is fine.
And occasionally, there will be some 'fire show' from the chef. You know, a huge streak of fire coming out of the pan. And everybody will be like "ooohhhhh" and "aaaahhhh".
Not to mention the sudden burst of heat.

What expression is that?

In terms of price, well, since it's fresh seafood, and in Bukit Bintang area as well, do bring extra cash. The average cost for me and the girlfy is close to a hundred bucks, and we didn't really order those expensive stuffs. But still, it's worth it. The last time i went there was a few weeks before puasa starts.
I'm sure there'll be a lot of people going to break their fast there.
It's suitable for the whole family, or with friends. People always come there in a large group. Like a reunion perhaps, or maybe some gathering?

The aftermath

Oh, and as a side note, don't sit too near to the chef or you might burn something. LOL
