Of padis and beaches.

Although the holiday is just a week long, i still managed to do a lot of things and go to lots of places. Coincidentally, my university's holiday period is the same with the school holidays. So, that makes things more interesting. yeah, the kids, the traffic jam and what not.

Basically, during the holidays, the main thing is i went to Perlis, for my sister's wedding. The wedding in Perlis is actually the 2nd part of the wedding ceremony, the first being held here in KL.

You don't see that signboard everyday huh. It reads, Bukit Kayu Hitam, 8km. Normally, Bukit Kayu Hitam will be around 400 km away when i see the signboard.
Yeah, it is that bloody far, Perlis.

The wedding is not in Bukit Kayu Hitam though. It is somewhere near Kangar or something. Although it is a god-forsaken place, it is not that bad really. Here, you can see the nature at its best. I'm not exactly sure when was the last time i went to Perlis. If i'm not mistaken , i was still a foetus then. LOL.

The house is located near a bendang, which makes it very picturesque. Sadly, it is not the right time of the year, so, i did not manage to see the yellow fields of the padi.

But this is surely the best shot though. This is just behind the house of the pengantin. I can imagine myself sitting beneath the coconut tree, with the soft wind blowing. Just sitting there and doing nothing. With the sound of birds chirping, ooh, the calmness.
But then again, it is quite boring, life in Perlis. No, it is very boring. Not much reason for me to come here again huh.

Oh, and by the way, i managed to go to the beach. yayyy! But definitely not in Perlis though. I went to Batu Ferringhi in Penang. Haven't been to the beach for quite some time already! And being a true city folk, the sight of the beach makes me go crazy. I don't know why, but i'm a sucker for beaches. I just love to go to the beach. I can never get sick of it. (-_-)

But somehow, the area in Batu Ferringhi has kinda lost its spark. It isn't as happening as before. Even some of the shops/stalls are not open, and what a waste, especially during the holiday period. I wonder why. At least, my beach fixation is cured, but only for the moment though. Looks like i have to go to the beach again (but somewhere else, of course) when the next holiday comes. heheh

Ah...u r a city boy thru & thru! We do tend to forget our family's beginnings when born & bred in a concrete jungle. It's lovely to be at one with nature - the lush green padi fields, swaying coconut trees, cool breeze & fresh bendang fish & ulam2 cicah sambal belacan for lunch...oh so heavenly!
